Sapien Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sapien’s mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1) Who We Are
Sapien is operated by Contango LLC (“Company”).

2) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an entity, you represent you have authority to bind that entity.
3) Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.
- You agree not to create accounts for others without permission, or to impersonate others.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the Service or other users.
4) Content You Provide
A. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create and post (e.g., photos, videos, text posts, captions, comments).
B. License to operate the Service
You grant Sapien a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and providing the Service.
C. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate law or these Terms.
5) Community Guidelines (No Abuse)
You agree not to:
- Post illegal content, sexual exploitation content, or content involving minors.
- Harass, threaten, or encourage violence.
- Engage in spam, fraud, and attempts to manipulate the Service.
- Attempt to access accounts or data without authorization.
- Upload malware or interfere with the Service’s operation.
We may remove content or take action on accounts at our discretion to enforce safety and integrity.
6) Features, Visibility, and “Circles”
The Service may include features such as Inner Circle / Outer Circle visibility, expiring posts, and other privacy controls. You understand that:
- Sharing settings affect who can see your content, but no sharing system is perfect.
- Users can potentially capture or re-share content outside the Service (e.g., screenshots).
7) Subscriptions (Shield) and Payments
Certain features may require a paid subscription (“Shield”). Subscription purchases are processed by Apple via In‑App Purchase.
- Prices and terms are shown at purchase time.
- Subscriptions may auto-renew unless cancelled in Apple ID settings.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions via the App Store / Apple ID settings.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies.
8) Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with third-party services (e.g., Apple, Supabase, Stripe). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and policies.
9) Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service and other users.
10) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT.
11) Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAPIEN AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
12) Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms. We will update the “Last Updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
